Mike Cohn, CLU, CHFC, Area President
As the founder of Cohn Financial Group, Mike Cohn, a well-respected industry authority and author, is the firm’s Area President. A frequent speaker on complex life insurance arrangements, including planning applications of private placement life insurance with family offices and law firms, Mike has spoken at the University of Miami Law School – Heckerling Tax Institute, and Southern California Tax & Estate Planning Forum. He has authored two books on succession planning, Keep or Sell Your Business: How to Make the Decision Every Private Company Faces and Passing the Torch: Succession, Retirement and Estate Planning in Family-Owned Businesses. He has written articles for Trust & Estates: Domestic Private Placement Life Insurance and What Trustees Should Know (and Do) for Trust-Owned Policies.

Mike holds a Master of Arts in Humanistic Psychology from the University of West Georgia and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Colorado. He is a former member of the Editorial Review Board for Trusts & Estates magazine and past Board Chair of Phoenix Art Museum and Free Arts for Abused Children of Arizona.
He holds Chartered Life Underwriter® (CLU®) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®) designations from The American College of Financial Services. He also holds his Series 7 and 66 securities registrations and Life and Health Insurance licenses in multiple states.
